  • What do I exactly commit to by joining the panel?

    Actually to nothing, it is entirely free !

    From time to time we will send you an email with a link asking you to participate to an online survey, but it is up to you to decide whether or not you want to participate. If you do not fill the questionnaire within a week we will send you a reminder just to be sure that you did not overlook our first email, and that is all.

    When you complete a brand survey you make no commitment whatsoever towards this brand or company, or to the brand of the gift to be won.

  • How long will my membership to the panel last?

    You can unsubscribe at any time you want by clicking on On our side we reserve the right to log off accounts that are inactive for an extended period of time.

  • What can I expect from joining the panel?

    Your participation to surveys on brands will regularly ensure your participation to our competitons. Your participation to surveys on your personality will provide you with information and tips from professional advisers helping you to know yourself better and to improve the quality of your interactions with friends, colleagues, family. The relevance of this information obviously depends on the genuineness of your answers.

  • What do you do with the personal information I provide?

    Personal information provided is used to identify you for appropriate surveys to receive and group your answers with other panelists. All personal information is secured and used for analysis only. Your individual identity is always kept confidential and is never provided to a third party. Additional information regarding your privacy can be found in our Privacy Policy section.

  • Could you be asked by a legal authority to disclose information about me?

    We may disclose personal information to respond to legal requirements, enforce our policies, respond to claims that a listing or other content violates the rights of others, or protect anyone's rights, property, or safety. Such information will be disclosed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • How often will I be asked to participate in an online survey?

    The actual number of invitations you will receive will vary from month to month. Typically, our panelists are invited to participate in a few surveys per month.

  • What kind of surveys will I be asked to participate to?

    The topics of our surveys vary a lot: it can be about how you personally perceive a brand, your use of Internet or your mobile, or we can ask your opinion on new products concepts, on new TV commercials or packaging.

  • Is there a cost to participate?

    There is no cost to participate in our panel.

  • What if I need to change my e-mail address or other personal information?

    Your e-mail address is the best way for us to contact you. Any change in your primary e-mail address is important to us. If you need to change your e-mail address you can do this after you have logged into your account by visiting 'My Account'. After updating your e-mail address, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from our panel. Additionally, you can email changes to including both your new and old information.

  • I joined the panel but I am never asked to participate to a survey?

    For some surveys we need participants with a specific profile: age, education, hobbies, ... . So it is quite possible that you would be less often invited because we are looking for people with a different profile to yours. If you never received an invitation please go to the "My Account" section to check the email address that you sent to us when you joined the panel. Maybe it changed and you forgot to tell us ?

  • Is it OK if I only use the Personality section of Apricool™ and never complete brand surveys ?

    Absolutely, by all means ! You know, Jung's work on types has been known for decades, and there has been a constant flow of additional research which has confirmed the relevance of his theory since then, but the human personality is so rich that it has many facets we do not know in depth. Collecting information on your opinions and attitudes on topics like health, hobbies, food, shopping, beauty etc. helps us to contribute to Jung's heritage and allows us to keep providing you with insightful and useful information.

  • In our family we have more than a few users with the same email address. Can we all join from this address?

    We select our participants from the joining questionnaire so it is important that each family member joins with his/her own email address. This to avoid that someone else participates to the survey that was sent personally to you.

  • How does it work exactly?

    Being a panel member is simple and provides rewards for your opinions. Once you join, you will be contacted by e-mail when a survey is available. This e-mail will contain instructions on how to access the survey and details about the rewards you will be eligible to earn. Participation for all surveys is voluntary, and there is of course no penalty if you choose not to participate.

Personality Types

  • I received a report about my personality. Is there an ‘ideal’ personality type? Should I try to modify my personality?

    There is no “ideal” or “perfect” personality type. The purpose of the questionnaire and report is help you understand your personality better and how you are likely to act in certain situations. You might subsequently decide that you need to adapt your behaviour in a particular situation in order to be more effective. But this does not mean you should “modify” your personality. It is important at any time to recognize your natural strengths and weaknesses and continue to develop to fully utiilise your whole personality.

  • I received a report talking about career. Should I change my career path?

    For career decisions, as for other areas, psychological type does not explain everything: other factors such as interests, skills and current satisfaction need to be included. It is true however that people tend to be attracted to and have the most satisfaction in careers that give them the opportunity to express and use their psychological type preferences.

  • I received a report talking about relationships, love... Should I stop some relationships ?

    There are no “good” or “bad” combinations of types in relationships: each combination (all preferences in common, all opposite or a mixture) has its pros and cons. People with similar preferences will most probably understand each other's view and often share common values, which will make them communicate easily. They also however may sometimes get stuck because they lack the diverse skills. Those with different preferences will probably disagree and argue about priorities or on how to approach a given problem, and hence may have trouble understanding each other but if they overcome this they will also experience the richness of their differences.

  • How valuable and reliable is the information on my personality type?

  • Why do you ask me to complete a personality questionnaire before I can receive a report on my type?

    Jung's work on types on which our 16APRI model is based has been known for decades. Since then there has been a constant flow of additional research which has confirmed the relevance of his theory. Yet the human personality is so rich that it has many facets we do not know in depth. Collecting information on your habits, attitudes and opinions on topics like health, hobbies, food, shopping, beauty etc. helps us to contribute to Jung's heritage and also allows us to keep providing you with insightful and useful information.


  • How will I know when a new survey is available?

    We will e-mail you when a new survey is available. Within that e-mail will be instructions on how to access the survey. In addition, you can access the ‘Brands’ section, where you can view and access all available surveys.

  • How long does it take to complete a survey?

    Surveys will vary in length but most take 5-10 minutes to complete. ; we ask you to try to complete them as soon as possible, since most surveys are only available for a limited time and to do it in one go as spontaneity of answers is crucial for their relevance. From time to time, we may invite you to test a product or participate in a research project conducted by telephone. Your participation in these studies as well is always voluntary.

  • How do I know if you received my survey?

    The last page of every survey contains a "Thank-you" message. This means that we have received your survey information. Every survey link which you receive is personalized - using a unique ID. With this unique ID number, we track which surveys you have accessed and completed.

  • What if I have a question about taking a survey?

  • Can I complete a survey in more than one sitting without starting over?

    No, as the coherence of our personality questionnaires and brand surveys depends on filling-in all questions in the same session.

  • I made a mistake - can I start over?

    Unfortunately, we cannot reset your survey answers. Please answer as best as you can for the rest of the survey and let us know by emailing at which answer we should disregard.

  • What if I do not want to or do not have time to take a particular survey or I am on vacation?

    There may be times when you are unable or do not want to participate in a survey. Your participation is always voluntary. Please feel free to disregard the survey invitation and any reminders pertaining to it. We will keep you on our panel and will notify you of future survey opportunities.

  • Why is there no space on your surveys to explain my answers or add additional comments?

    Some surveys do allow you to explain comments you may have. However, many of our clients need survey results very quickly and it can be very time consuming to report detailed responses. When there is no opportunity to share comments within the survey itself, we encourage you to e-mail with your comments.

  • Why am I asked to proceed with the survey while I am not using the product involved?

    Sometimes we want to know why you would not buy or are not buying this product. Your answers help us to understand whether the reason is the price, the brand or another factor and if a change to one or more of these factors would make you change your mind.

  • Why are you asking my opinion on a product I have not even been able to test?

    Developing a new product is an expensive process hence companies often ask us to help them determine if this new product is really necessary. Opinions about a new product usually vary a lot even before it can be tested, the reason being that one would not use such a product or the price, or the brand and / or any other factor. Your answers help us to improve new products.


  • How do you decide on the winner(s) of the prizes?

    Details of the specific prizes are included in the survey notification: we either make a drawing from the pool of people who completed this particular survey, or we organise a contest with a tie-breaker .

  • I am supposed to receive a gift for completing a survey. How do you know where to send the gift?

    You provided us with your name and email address when you joined the Apricool Panel. When you participate to your first brand survey you are also asked to communicate your address. Then every survey link you receive is personalized with your membership ID number; we are able to locate your personal details with this number so that we do not need to collect your address at the end of the survey. If your address has recently changed, however, please log into your account and access the ‘My Account’ section to update your contact information.

  • I completed a survey that offered a gift, but I have not yet received it. When can I expect to receive it?

    Gifts are mailed once a survey closes and the list of panelists completing the survey are compiled. Please allow 6-12 weeks for delivery of your gift.

  • Why do you not pay for completion of each survey?

    While some companies pay for responses, many researchers believe that paid responses can be different from unpaid responses. For this reason, we try to avoid paid responses. However, we realize your time is valuable, so in cases where the study is complicated or lengthy, we offer incentives for every respondent completing the survey.

  • How do I know who won the prizes of a particular survey?

    At the beginning of each survey we provide detailed information about the prizes and how they can be won. Winners will be notified via e-mail.


  • What if I have technical difficulties?

    Hereunder you can find brief descriptions of the more common error messages and tips for how to resolve these problems. Additionally, you can email us at for assistance. When emailing us, please include your membership ID and provide as much detail as possible concerning the problem you experienced. Providing your browser type (such as Internet Explorer 7.0, Firefox or Safari) with version number would also be helpful. You can determine your browser version number by clicking 'Help' and then 'About' on the menu toolbar.

  • What if I receive an error message?

    We appreciate the time you spend completing our surveys, and understand it can be frustrating to receive an error message. With any error message, try allowing 5-10 minutes for our system to re-set, and then try to access it again. You should return to where you left off. If you continue to experience problems, try the hints below or forward the original email invitation with a description of the problem at for assistance.

    'A problem has been detected with your id/password' message - You may receive this error message if: you leave a survey and try to access it again within 5-10 minutes, you double click on the link, or the URL is not completely copied to the browser's address line. If you must leave the survey, please allow 5-10 minutes before attempting to access it again. Only click the link once, as double-clicking will cause the link to be inactive for a short period of time. Finally, sometimes the URL (survey link) may 'wrap' onto more than one line in the invitation email. When this happens, and you click on this URL to access the survey, the entire URL is not highlighted/entered into the browser address line. Just copy & paste the entire URL from the invitation email into the address line of your browser and hit 'enter' for the survey to load.

    'Web site not found' or 'Unable to service request' message - You may receive either error message if the URL was not completely entered into the browser address line or our website is currently experiencing technical difficulties. Check to make sure the URL is exactly as it appears in the email message. If the URL is correct, our website may be busy or temporarily down. Technical problems with our website are usually resolved fairly quickly - please try again later.

    'Deadline has passed' message - You may receive this message if we have already collected the amount of responses needed. Although this particular survey may be closed, we will certainly keep you in mind for future surveys!

  • I forgot my password.

    You can ask us to send you your password by email. You can find this function by going to the Login screen, than by clicking "password forgotten ?".

  • What if part of the survey is missing or it didn't completely load?

    Sometimes the check-off boxes or other parts of the survey page may not completely load. If this happens, click the 'Refresh' button on your browser toolbar. If this doesn't help, exit the interview, wait 5-10 minutes, and try to log back in. The survey should continue where you left off.

  • What should I do if I can't see an image in the survey?

    Many of our surveys include images. Some may be large and take additional time to download. Also, if you've just received the survey, high traffic into the survey could cause problems with image availability. Try accessing the survey again at a later time (when our servers aren't as busy).

  • What if the survey invitations go to my "Bulk" or "Junk" mailbox?

    Occasionally, invitations for our panelists are incorrectly routed to "Bulk Mail" or "Junk Mail". We would hate for you to miss out on survey opportunities and rewards. Here is how to correct this problem:

    For Hotmail: 
 Click ‘options’ Click ‘safe list’ Add the domain address to your ‘safe list’ Click OK

    For Yahoo: Open the email from us that was sent to your ‘bulk mail’ box Click on ‘send to Yahoo for review’. Yahoo’s customer service will make changes so that messages from us will be delivered to your inbox in the future.

    For Gmail click on "Create a filter" then put "" in the From field and check the box that says "Never Send it to Spam".

  • Do I need a specific browser to participate?

    Absolutely not! Our system works with all browsers. If you experience technical problems, please forward the email invitation you received with a brief description of the problem experienced. It will be helpful to include the browser you are using, including the version number (for example, Internet Explorer 7.0, Firefox or Safari). You can determine your browser version number by clicking 'Help' and then 'About' on the menu toolbar.
